Mary O’Kane is Principal of O’Kane Associates, a Sydney-based company specialising in major government and research reviews.  She is also the New South Wales Chief Scientist & Engineer and a company director, being Chair of the Development Gateway and the Development Gateway International, Chair of the Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information, Chair of the University of Tasmania Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies Board and a director of Business Events Sydney, National ICT Australia Ltd, and the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre.

Professor O’Kane is also a director of Business Events Sydney and the Capital Markets CRC as well as being a trustee for the New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute.

Mr Brett Biddington AM

Brett Biddington is the founder of Canberra-based consulting company, Biddington Research Pty Ltd which specialises in space and cyber security matters and provides advice to government and the private sector on policy, advocacy and national capacity development perspectives.  He is the immediate past chair of the Space Industry Association of Australia and sits on several boards and committees concerned with the governance of Australia’s space and astronomy activities and with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and outreach. 

Mr Biddington holds Adjunct professorial appointments at Edith Cowan University in Perth and at RMIT University (RMIT) in Melbourne. In June 2012 Brett was admitted as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to the Australian space sector.

Ms Whitelaw was a member Minter Ellison’s National Partnership Board, Canberra Chair of Partners, National Government Industry Group Leader and leader of the Canberra Infrastructure and Finance team.  Elizabeth was also Minter Ellison’s board representative on the National Risk Assessment and Management Committee.

Dr Ben Greene is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Electro Optic Systems (EOS). Dr Greene is internationally recognised for his expertise in space research and the development and commercialisation of innovative solutions in the tracking, monitoring and management of space debris. He is also an author of numerous patents and the architect of a number of international space tracking systems.

Dr Greene is also a leader in space technology programs for geodesy, gravity field determination, GNSS development, space navigation, remote sensing, satellite systems, high power lasers, inter-continental time transfer and space surveillance.

Professor Min Gu

Professor Min Gu is Distinguished Professor and Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor at RMIT University.  He is an author of four standard reference books and has over 450 publications in nano/biophotonics.  He is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science as well as the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.  He is also an elected Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics, the Optical Society of America, the International Society for Optical Engineering, the Institute of Physics (UK), and the International Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineers.  

He has received many awards including the Einstein Professorship of the Chinese Academy of Science (2010), Laureate Fellowship of the Australian Research Council (2010), the W. H. (Beattie) Steel Medal of the Australian Optical Society (2011), the Ian Wark Medal and Lecture of the Australian Academy of Science (2014), and the Boas Medal of the Australian Institute of Physics (2015), and the Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation (2016).
