Management Team

The SERC Executive Management team is led by private sector space research and industry professionals.

		Mr David Ball Chief Executive Officer David Ball has 25 years of experience in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors with a significant portion of his career specialising in satellite communications. David has held senior positions encompassing sales leadership, business development, engineering and space systems development with Envista Pty Ltd, NewSat Limited, Intelsat and PanAmSat. David also served as a commissioned officer in the Royal Australian Air Force specialising in fixed, tactical and mobile communications systems management. David holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Communications Engineering) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Deakin University.
		Dr Steve Gower General Manager Dr Steve Gower was recently Director – Research Collaborations and Partnerships at RMIT University and responsible for liaison with key stakeholders including state and federal governments, industry, universities, CRCs and research organisations both domestically and internationally. Steve was also responsible for the establishment of international research laboratories; research contracts; IP and commercialisation; and has served on numerous company boards and committees.
		Ms Michelle Fulton Business Manager Michelle Fulton is Business Manager of SERC. Michelle has a strong background in business development, project management and administration. Her prior roles include public and private sector appointments in the technology, event management and tourism sectors. Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Canberra.
		Ms Sally Vardy Company Secretary Sally Vardy has created a financial consulting service with a difference in Beyond Your Numbers Pty Ltd. She offers financial and governance services and interprets the numbers to provide in-depth analysis of her clients’ financial position. Sally gives the best possible input to business owners, CEOs and Boards for making decisions to create the future they want for their organisations.
